Did you know that the first brownie was created by accident when a baker forgot to add baking powder? Sometimes, the best things come from happy mistakes!
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, plain yogurt, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips, if using, for extra gooeyness.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, lift them out using the parchment overhang, slice into squares, and enjoy!
