Description
Did you know that chocolate was once considered the “food of the gods”? In ancient civilizations, it was so revered that it was used in sacred rituals and even as currency. Today, we can indulge in this divine treat more easily, and one of my favorite ways to do so is through a rich and creamy Milk Chocolate Fondue. It’s a delightful experience that brings people together, reminiscent of cozy gatherings and shared laughter.
Ingredients
- 🥛 2/3 cup half-and-half
- 🍫 12 oz milk chocolate or 1 bag (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
- 🍊 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur, kirsch, brandy, or additional half-and-half
- 🍓 Assorted dippers:
- 🍰 Pound cake cubes
- 🍓 Strawberries
- 🍍 Pineapple chunks
- 🍏 Apple slices
- ☁️ Marshmallows
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a 2-quart heavy saucepan, heat the half-and-half and milk chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly until the chocolate melts and the mixture becomes smooth.
- Add Flavoring: Remove from heat and stir in your choice of liqueur or additional half-and-half.
- Serve: Pour the melted chocolate into a fondue pot or chafing dish to keep warm.
- Dip and Enjoy: Use fondue forks or skewers to dip your assorted dippers into the warm chocolate. If the fondue becomes too thick, stir in a small amount of half-and-half to adjust the consistency.
